TPS : High School Musical 2010

Well, we did it and I WAS WRONG!

Below you can read what some of our young thespians (!) thought of our recent production of High School Musical. If you would like to add your thoughts, whether you are a pupil, a member of staff, a parent, a governor or anybody at all, please email me.

Mr Alcorn

DANIEL : TROY

I thought doing the play was really good fun, at the very start when I got my script I thought I'm never going to learn all this. It's hard work but you just have to keep at it.  When I learned all my lines and knew all my songs I thought it was really great.  When it came to the first real performance I felt nervous but after the first scene I was fine. In my opinion the show went really well and I really enjoyed it. It was really fun working with everybody, it's something I'll never forget. None of this could have happened without all the staff who helped.

THANK YOU !

SELIN : GABRIELLA

I think that our production High School Musical was very good. I can remember the day of the audition and how nervous I felt but everybody was great at their audition and even if some aren't a big fan of High School Musical they still got up and auditioned even if they know they’re not very good. Then came the first 4 parts, I can clearly remember how I felt when Mr. Alcorn was about to say who was going to be Gabriella. I was so nervous and probably everyone was, and when he said my name I didn't scream or jump I just felt really happy because acting and singing is something that I love doing and this was a great opportunity for me. Then everybody got their parts too and I felt nervous for them! Then started the rehearsals, it was all going good - well some people enjoyed it some not really - but I liked it and the getting out late from school was fun too. Then everything started to get harder and we went through a few bumps. At one point we all thought the play was going to be called off. I was really worried but Mr. Alcorn said 'PROVE TO ME THAT I'M WRONG" and ever since we have all improved so much. Mr Alcorn even said why didn't I say that before?
The real performance was ready and our first one was in front of P1 to P6 and staff. I thought it went really well plus it was better in costume. Everyone was really good and put all their effort in to it even if they really didn't like High School Musical and it really made the whole show great. I guess doing it in front of the parents was a little bit more scary but it actually went really well too and it was fun getting all the make up done and getting your picture taken.

This whole time we have worked on High School Musical has really taught me to build up my confidence and sing in front of crowds . Thank you sooooo much. And I really want to thank Miss Hyde, Mrs Tweed, Mrs Uprichard, Miss Reid and **Mr Alcorn**. Thank you all!

OLIVER : OLIVER

Mr Alcorn, I thought the play was very enjoyable because I made friends with people in the other class who I haven't talked to much before. I was very nervous about actually performing the play but I started to relax and was having a lot of fun by the end. All the teachers who helped out with the play were really helpful by telling me how to do the things I wasn't sure about. I think this would be useful if I'm ever in a play again. If I had the chance I would definitely do the play again as it was a great experience.

Thank you for everything

RICHARD : RYAN

I am not going to lie... from the start to the seventh week was a pain, but then all my prayers came true and it was brilliant. Being Ryan was great, in my mind he was the comedian of the show. The best part of being Ryan was getting the laugh after "what I've been looking for". I hope every one enjoyed it as much as I did. It was a great laugh. I got to know the other p7 class much better. And I just want to say thank you to all the teachers who made this happen.

LUCY : SHARPAY

I really enjoyed the whole experience of our P7 musical. It was great that both classes were brought together and allowed us all to get to know each other better. Every time we sang “We’re all in this together,” I always thought about how much effort everyone had put into the show, including all the funny and serious times we had doing it - it made me want to just turn around and smile at everyone knowing that I’ll always have happy memories of the time spent together perfecting our performances. The makeup on Tuesday and Thursday nights was fantastic (I never saw myself look so pretty and so Sharpay looking), even the boys had to wear makeup and they suited it! The makeup really caught the lights on the stage and helped make us stand out. Thanks to all the teachers for all their support.

NAOMI : TAYLOR

I thought the play was amazing and I was so glad that Mr Alcorn was wrong! It was so much fun doing the play and I enjoyed being Taylor. You picked the right people for each part and all the funny lines worked because I heard the audience laughing.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity.
