In order to help with the smooth running of the school I would like to remind you of the following points:-

Primary Three – 3 o’clock finish on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 2 o’clock finish on Tuesday and Thursday.

Nut Allergy – we have several children in school who have severe allergic reactions to nuts. I would therefore request that you do not send any food items containing nuts into school.

Update – please inform the school secretary of any change concerning address, telephone number, emergency contact numbers, etc.

Indoors – it is school policy that children are not left unsupervised at break or lunchtime. Therefore pupils will only be allowed to remain indoors if a note has been brought into the class teacher.

Labels – please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled. Unfortunately each year we end up with many unclaimed items of clothing which we have to dispose of.

Time keeping – we expect children to arrive/get collected from school on time. If you are delayed please inform the school secretary so that appropriate arrangements can be made. Children should not arrive into the school grounds before 8.45 am when the bell will ring and the supervising teachers commence their duty.

Nursery – Morning session door opens at 9 am.

Afternoon session door opens at 12.30 pm. Click here from more Nursery news.

Absence – a note explaining the reason for absence should be sent to your child’s class teacher on their return to school.

Parent Volunteer List – in school we are now only able to invite parents to help supervise trips etc. if they have undergone a criminal check. If you would like to be put on the Parent Volunteer List please contact the school office for the appropriate forms.

School Dinners

School Dinner – these are ordered on a weekly basis. Children order and pay for their school dinner on Monday morning of each week (if absent on the day of their return to school).

If a pupil forgets his/her packed lunch we will supply that pupil with a school lunch that should be paid for the next day. Continual non-payment of money owed to us will leave us no alternative but to refuse a school lunch to that particular pupil (parents would be contacted before this would happen).

Menu for each week’s school dinners is on the previous week’s newsletter. A school dinner costs £2.20. Click here for a list of all school newsletters

Entry into school – for security reasons parents/visitors must first report to the office in the school reception area. On no account should anyone go straight to a classroom. Children arriving into school after 9.10 am should use the main door at the reception area.

Dear Parent

Welcome to the beginning of the 2009 Autumn Term. I hope that you have enjoyed the summer break as much as we, the staff, have! However, I’m sure that, like us, you are looking forward to the new school year.

Once again this year we will be holding September meetings for our P1 to P7 parents. These meetings give me the opportunity to speak with parents to outline our ambitions for school and the new trends in education, in particular those that will directly impact upon our children. Secondly the meetings allow each individual teacher time to outline important issues that will aid the smooth running of our school and also highlight the main areas of the curriculum to be covered during the incoming year.

As for any school today we face many challenges not least keeping pace with Department of Education initiatives. In order to organise and facilitate development we have set our priorities for the incoming year as follows:
